The rag doll is one of 16 toys created in the PCEP toy-making class, where participants discover what learning through play means. The Doll Contest is an exceptional opportunity for participants to showcase their creations and the pride of creating a toy made with their children in mind.

Held in April, the Toy Contest is a celebration of ingenuity and imagination, honoring the diversity of ways toys can inspire and educate children. Each family makes an educational toy that is shared with the community in a public exhibition before winners are selected.

Our celebration of El Día del Niño (April 30), or Children's Day, brings all families registered in AVANCE together for a day filled with activities that make children feel special and valued. During this celebration, we also announce the winners of the Toy Contest.

Every Spring, we hold a graduation ceremony to mark the completion of our Parent-Child Education Program and the beginning of a new stage in the lives of graduates. It is the children's first graduation and the only one in which both parents and children walk across the stage together.

The Resource Fair provides information on community resources available to AVANCE families. Open to the entire community, the fair includes raffles for participating families and activities for young children.

The Bookworm Brunch is a day of fun, food, and literacy for families in AVANCE programs. Families enjoy a delicious brunch while children immerse themselves in a variety of fun activities designed to inspire a love for reading in the next generation.
